Unfortunately, the cancer of these organs is completely asymptomatic in the early stages, there is no suitable methods for screening, so a substantial proportion of cases recognized only at an advanced stage.
Today marks the start of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month - a time to take action against the deadliest major cancer with a five-year survival rate of just 8 percent.
To see a decline in death rates for pancreatic cancer, we must first make sure that more people know about the disease. And November is a great time to get started by educating yourself about the symptoms and risk factors.
